My work is a personal expression of the positive energy present in my life. This energy comes to me from the earth and her beauty; from self-challenges to test my endurance, willpower and strength; and the stimulating aesthetic world around me. Especially, I am inspired by the fabulous people I have met and am fortunate enough to call my friends in this world.
Among the many types of art I feel drawn to, I spend the most studio time in painting, jewelry making and clay. My work contains a strong presence of color, expressive line quality and sculptural aspects. Stylistic features such as biomorphic and organic shapes are ever present in my work, with an undeniable influence from nature and growth. It is through personal growth that my work has evolved and progressed to this point.
I have been teaching the Art program at Girard High School in Girard, Kansas for the last several years. I am currently working on my MA in jewelry design at Pittsburg State University.
